Chester engagement shoot – Liz & Steve
Chester engagement shoot – a rainy summer shoot with Liz & Steve.
Liz and Steve invited me up to Chester near where they live for their engagement shoot – one of the things I love so much about photographing weddings aside from meeting new people is all of the interesting places I get to travel to round the UK! I’ve been to Chester before but hadn’t really seen much of it, and Steve was an incredible local history buff, so the seeing and learning about local sights was really great fun. I never realised how steeped in history Chester was, and Steve pointed out coffins buried in the Cathedral ruins, details of a Roman amphitheatre and so much more. I love history and old things so much – I have a thing about touching old stuff, just to say I’ve touched something really old, so I was poking things all over the place!
We started off on the Queen’s park bridge over the river, before heading into the beautiful old ruins and then popping along to the Roman amphitheatre and gardens, meeting up with a local Roman soldier on the way! It was a bit of a rainy day, but it held off enough for most of the afternoon before a torrential downpour came. I decided to make the most of my flash so we ended going out tin the downpour to take some fun umbrella shots – I’ve always wanted to do some of those!
Liz and Steve were so laid back and so much fun, Liz kept apologising for laughing but I love it when people laugh in my photos! Really looking forward to their Wales wedding in October, along with seeing Steve’s vintage mini!
