Richmond Hill wedding photography – Laura and George’s sunny May wedding with fabulous views over London from Richmond Hill terrrace.
Laura and George are just the sweetest couple, and they wanted their wedding day to be fun and relaxed, just like them. They were so in love with the incredible views over London from Richmond hill terrace that they decided to hold their wedding reception at the George’s Dad’s pub on the terrace, before moving on to the Richmond hill Hotel in the evening, complete with epic Krispy Kreme doughnut tower cake (how I managed to not lick the whole thing as I photographed it, I don’t know). They were married in the beautiful St Mary Magdalene church, round the corner from the terrace.
I started off my Richmond Hill wedding photography at the Hill hotel, where Laura and her 9 bridesmaids were getting ready – easily the most bridesmaids I’ve ever had at one wedding, but they were the loveliest bunch of girls. And George even managed to out do Laura with 11 groomsmen – though I can see why they both had so many – as they are such a lovely couple they had a hard time choosing amongst their friends!
We were lucky to have a super hot and sunny day, which meant we could nip back outside on to the terrace just before sunset for some gorgeous golden hour portraits – this is one thing I always recommend to my couples. Scheduling 20 minutes in the evening for some extra portraits gives you some great alone time as well as beautiful light if there happens to be a sunset.
Big thanks to Andrew Brannan for second shooting Richmond hill wedding photography with me!
