Emma and Josh had a fabulous vintage burlesque wedding, at Brownsover Hall in Rugby. I fell so in love with this wonderfully gothic hotel, especially its huge moose horns right in the doorway!
They asked their guests to attend in vintage attire, as they put it – “We’re going for a vintage-y theme, but not an 80’s tracksuit for the blokes, which is what a lot of vintage shops try to pedal these days. For the men, don’t take the high waisted trousers too seriously, we’re going for vintage cool….not Simon Cowell.”
Emma wore the most fabulous kissing couple shoes from Irregular choice and a beautiful dress from Berketex Bride. Do be sure to check out her arm decorations and handmade bouquet and headpiece! Emma’s vintage burlesque wedding hairstyle and makeup was by Chez Titine.
As Emma and several of her bridesmaids are dancers, guests were treated to three fabulous vintage burlesque wedding dances in the evening, one of which was a surprise for Emma from her bridesmaids, and ended with a picture of the happy couple’s faces on bum cheeks! This was my first burlesque experience and I absolutely loved it! Other entertainment included a beautiful singing set from professional vintage singer and bridesmaid Holly (Gloria Sunset) plus awesome band The Jack ‘O’ Bones. Emma hand decorated all the dinner tables with vintage items alongside handmade liquor favours and cakes and cake topper. (I tell myself I am saving my orange brandy for a special occasion, but really the bottle looks too cool sitting on my kitchen shelf to drink)
So much fun, love and laughter on this day, I had a total blast from start to end! A huge thank you to Emma and Josh for having me…and I’m also lucky enough to have this wedding featured on Channel 5’s “I Want That Wedding”!
