Isis Farmhouse Oxford Wedding – Phoebe and Joe’s riverside wedding, with a river boat ride and a cracking ceilidh!
Phoebe and Joe both wanted a fun and relaxed wedding in Oxford where they both live, and decided the Isis Farmhouse would be the perfect reception venue, as it was often somewhere they would walk to by the river for a nice pint. So what better than to share that pint with all their wedding guests? In the morning Phoebe was dolled up by her own bridesmaid, and all the girls looked gorgeous with rustic flowers placed in their hair. Joe was gifted a beautiful pocket watch from Phoebe the morning of the wedding. They were married in the lovely old Oxford Town Hall, an absolutely beautiful building that had some ideal little pockets of space for some gorgeous couple portraits. Since the Isis Farmhouse is only accessible by foot down the towpath or by boat, Phoebe and Joe opted to take all their guests on a fun boat ride down to the Farmhouse for their drinks reception. The weather was really nice all day and you couldn’t really ask for a more pretty and rustic setting at the Isis Farmhouse. I can see why people travel so far for a pint there! Everyone enjoyed the weather playing garden games (or their own variations thereof!) and having drinks outside before heading inside the barn for a buffet meal and some hilarious speeches.
There were a lot of handmade elements in the day, with Joe designing his invitations himself, his Mum making the wedding cakes topped with edible flowers, and his Dad illustrating a sweet little sweetie plate as a gift for them both. Phoebe and Joe opted for some Scottish ceilidh dancing for the evening entertainment at their Isis Farmhouse wedding, which always goes down a treat with guests (and makes for hilarious photos). I finished off the day with an absolutely stunning golden hour in the wild grass field behind the Isis Farmhouse – couldn’t have really asked to a more perfect end to a fun day!
Massive thanks to Phoebe and Joe (and Joe’s parents) for having me for their Isis Farmhouse Oxford Wedding!
