Gothic wedding London – Lisa and Jair’s epic wedding at Islington Metalworks!
Where do I even start with this wedding…I loved every second of it! Lisa and Jair completely did everything they wanted their way, such as ditching a sit down meal in for amazing vegan bowl foods, glitter prosecco pimping, and not having a cake cutting. There were plenty of creative DIY touches – Lisa handmade her dried bouquet and tombstone order of the day signs, as well as the delicate origami butterfly guest book.
I started the day with Lisa and her Maid of Honour and girlfriend Julia, and spent lot of time swooning over Lisa’s dress and accessories. The Amethyst crown! The vintage pearls! The Lolita dress! Lisa wore her Lolita wedding dress for the day, and then changed into a black dress designed by Julia, accessorised with amethyst crown and earrings by Howling Moon for the evening. Lisa wrote their wedding ceremony with Satanic rituals herself and it was performed on an altar by her MOH/girlfriend’s boyfriend (dressed as Satanic priest). Hearing a whole room of guests should “Hail Satan!” is wonderfully theatric! And of course I had to nab that altar for a few couple shots – one of the great things about Islington Metalworks is that it’s full of random props, so Lisa and Jair were able to utilise things like smoke machines, giant Nosferatu and many other prop items for their gothic wedding decor. Another added bonus of Islington metalworks is that they were able to go clubbing in the other rooms after the wedding!
I had such a wonderful time at Lisa and Jair’s wedding, they were so happy and fun and a pleasure to photograph. My biggest regret is that it’s really not possible to dance properly to Panic! At The Disco whilst holding cameras on the dance floor…
Massive thanks to Lisa and Jair, and their lovely families and friends, for having me at their absolutely cracking gothic wedding London!
