Lake District travel photography
Lake District travel photography – a personal post!
Back in May, my boyfriend and I spent my birthday weekend up in the Lake District, somewhere we’d wanted to go for a while. The scenery up there was truly incredible and I wasn’t quite prepared for it – I expected lakes, but not such awesome looking fells – it looked as if we’d teleported to New Zealand!
Based recommendations from friends, we stayed in Keswick and explored the town and local area, going for a couple of fell walks up Catbells in amazing weather one day, and up a rather more drizzly local fell another. I loved the little town of Keswick itself, with it’s shops of Kendal mint cake (very tasty, possibly the sweetest substance known to man), handmade goods, pubs, ales, home made pies and all set against a beautiful fell backdrop that you could see from within the town and surrounding streets. We had some lakeside walks and ate a lot of good sandwiches. An excellent trip all round!
The scenery is so fab that I really must get beck up here to do some shooting – if you’re planning on getting married in the Lake District, do get in touch!
