Writtle university college wedding – Annie & Rhys’ handmade garden games wedding in Chelmsford.
I just want to make an announcement at the beginning of this post – Annie’s parents MADE her wedding dress from scratch! Can we just appreciate how awesome that is as we scroll through their wedding day?!
Annie and Rhys chose a cracker of a reception venue in their Writtle University college wedding. Being a weekend, they had the whole place to themselves, and decorated it beautifully with loads of handmade touches, such as their face in hole board (I had to google the name for this – apparently that’s it’s official name!), rustic signs and garden games area. Each guest got to take home their own vintage teacup and saucer as a favour too. The college specialises in horticulture and landscaping courses, so naturally the grounds were lovely to shoot in – they were so extensive we didn’t even get round them all! Guests got to enjoy the sunshine and gardens with a glass of Pimms and some jazz before heading in to the college bar for BBQ, self serve puddings and speeches.
Because Annie and Rhys had a summer wedding, they planned loads of fun outdoor activities for both big and little guests. Garden games, beanbag toss, table tennis, bubble machine, photobooth…the list goes on! They really wanted their guests to just chill out with each other and have a fun time – which they definitely did with the face in hole board! I had great fun shooting Annie and Rhys’ Writtle University college wedding, and it was also lovely to catch up with previous clients of mine, Chloe and Pete!
