Rustic winter wedding at Swancar Farm – Colin and Steph
Colin and Steph chose the beautiful Swancar Farm country house in Nottingham for their big day, and it’s not hard to see why! The winter weather held out with a sunny and dry day, which meant gorgeous pictures with those stunning countryside views, and they even brought their own tartan wraps for a rustic vibe. I quite like winter weddings for the opportunity to have a play with outdoor flash once it gets dark, so extra props go to Colin and Steph for braving the cold a second time later in the day!
Colin and Steph created all their decorations themselves, so in the morning I caught up with the boys decorating the dining hall, before heading up to spend time with Steph and her bridesmaids getting ready. The couple opted for a beautiful and simple ceremony in the form of a blessing from Colin’s Uncle, having conducted their legal ceremony a few days before the wedding. This meant the ceremony could be so much more personal to them as a couple!
Magic Amit entertained guests during the cocktail and photos hour, and once speeches were finished, Colin and Steph started off their evening with an incredible first dance – a full on waltz! They have been practising for weeks and it really showed. Then, full on party times began with a ceilidh called with the help of Colin and his Dad – I bloody love photographing ceilidh dancing because you literally never know what kind of mad pictures you’ll get, but you are guaranteed pictures of people laughing their heads off!
I had great fun with Colin and Steph, both on their engagement shoot and at their wedding – a big thank you for having me as your photographer!
