Wycome Abbey wedding photography – Vicky & Mark’s sunflower themed wedding
Wycombe Abbey wedding photography – Vicky and Mark’s laid back yellow sunflower themed wedding at Wycombe Abbey girls school in High Wycombe.
Wycombe Abbey is a beautiful old school with a slight Hogwarts feel hidden on a hill in huge forest grounds in the centre of High Wycombe. It really was an honour and pleasure to shoot here, considering that only teachers or ex-students of the school can get married at the school’s own chapel. Since Vicky and Mark both work at the school, they were lucky enough to have their ceremony in the chapel, followed by their reception in what is probably the fanciest school dining room I have ever seen!
Their theme was centered around the colour yellow and sunflowers, and when I went to visit them prior to the wedding, I was amazed at just how much of the wedding details Vicky and Mark had handmade. The sunflower theme ran through the table pieces, wedding invitations, wedding favours and postbox, all of which they made themselves. The table theme was USA road trip, based on their various parts of call on their honeymoon, and they’d even made each guest a CD of American inspired songs for their own “road trip” home!
After the ceremony I spent some time with Vicky and Mark by the beautiful old chapel for their couple’s session, and nipped back out with them again in the evening for a quick golden hour portrait. We even managed to coax Max the dog in for a quick picture with the groomsmen! There was lots of fun to be had that evening with blow up props – as I left, Mark was particularly channelling his inner rock god in a wig and guitar!
The whole wedding was wonderful fun from start to finish. Vicky and Mark are such a happy and laid back couple that the entire day was just a pleasure to shoot.
Wycombe Abbey wedding photography was a great experience for me!
