Harrild and Sons wedding – a laid back wedding at Islington Town hall followed by dinner, magic, video games and basement bar shots at Harrild & Sons in Farringdon.
Carys and Steve’s main goal at their wedding was to have a super relaxed and informal day, where they could just spend time hanging out with family and friends. They were married in the Richmond Room in Islington town hall before catching a vintage bus and viewing some classic London sights (with drink in hand) ahead of their reception at Harrild and Sons bar. Carys had a beautiful vintage 1920’s look, complete with a surprise gift on the wedding morning from Steve – a locket with his picture in, for her to add hers to. They have been a couple for a long time (longer than the Big Brother has been on tv, as pointed out in Steve’s speech) so this was a really touching gift. Carys had also left Steve his own gifts of personalised socks and memorial cufflinks.
They had laid on some excellent entertainment for guests in the form of vintage video games (Pac-man arcade game) and super talented magician Robert Bone. I bloody love magicians at weddings because photographing guests’ reactions to tricks is just hilarious. Robert had a wonderful knack for entertaining and surprising guests – I enjoyed his tricks so much I booked him for my own wedding, and always recommend him to other couples looking for some fun and interactive entertainment for guests. After some magic and Photo Booth fun, guests headed on down the the basement bar area, which gave me ample opportunity to get some fun swigging champers on the dance floor shots!
Carys and Steve were loads of fun, and in Carys I have found someone who loves cats just as much as I do! So thank you both for having me at your lovely Harrild and Sons wedding!
I photograph a lot of town hall and pub wedding combinations in London, so if you’re having one of your own, check out this page for some useful planning info.
